Why should you call your local attorney first?

A lot of times when someone gets injured in a wreck or in an accident, they’ll contact maybe the first person they see on a billboard or a commercial. What we say is, if you have a question about what to do after a wreck, we say contact your local attorney: someone who has handled your bankruptcy or has handled a divorce or a criminal matter. Because that is someone that you have a previous relationship with that you should trust. And they can tell you, because they know all the lawyers in town, they know who handles what type of case, they can tell you who the best lawyer is to handle this particular type of case. So, I always encourage folks not to just call the first number that they see, but rather talk with someone who knows the substance behind any particular law firm.
