What is a contingent fee?
Video Transcript
A contingency fee arrangement is one in which the client doesn’t have to pay anything up front for legal services. Basically, it is a portion of the client’s recovery at the end of a case. Only if and when we recover for you do we take a percentage of that for legal fees. Unlike other areas of the law where you may have to pay an hourly fee or some sort of retainer fee, in a personal injury case you don’t have to pay anything up front, and what that means is, no matter what your financial situation is, you are able to get a lawyer and focus on your treatment, focus on getting better, and let us work for you. And at the end, if we recover for you, then our fee is simply a portion of that recovery.
