Is a lawyer’s understanding of medical conditions critical in the handling of personal injury cases?
Video Transcript
Your attorney has to understand the medical side of any particular case almost as well as the doctor does. The reason is because if the attorney doesn’t understand the intricacies of any particular medical procedure or any particular type of incident, they’re not going to be able to communicate that to the insurance company. They’re not going to be able to communicate that they understand the mechanism of injury, and a lot of times it’s in question. A lot of times there are preexisting conditions that particular clients have, that, unless they’re with an attorney that knows how to work these things up and distinguish before the wreck versus after the wreck, then the insurance company is going to eat them alive and they’re not going to get the type of settlement that they deserve.
